A British stage, film and television actor, best known for playing Thomas Cromwell in the television series "The Tudors". He graduated in Drama and Film from the University of East Anglia, Norwich, England, UK, and went on to study acting at London's Central School of Speech and Drama.

  • Has often been cast in roles in projects pertaining to the Tudor period of English history. He appeared in the 1998 film "Elizabeth" as Alvaro de Quadra and then played Thomas Cromwell in the Showtime series "The Tudors". He was later cast as the Earl of Warwick in the BBC's "The White Queen" (about Elizabeth Woodville who was the grandmother of Henry VIII and great-grandmother to Elizabeth I).
