  • Is good friends with fellow actress, Helen Mirren. They appeared together in a TV movie Doing Her Own Thing (1970).

  • After production wrapped on Las crueles (1969), the film's director, Vicente Aranda, presented her with a special gift, a necklace with a hand charm. She still has the necklace to this day, and even occasionally wore it on screen in her subsequent films.

A show which has been referred to as "The Actor's Graveyard", with many actors expressing regret over their appearance on the series. However, Matheson is one of the few actors who have remained unapologetic about it and has stated how much of a wonderful experience it was in her career.

  • Revealed in a 2018 interview with "Rabbit and Snail" that she auditioned, and nearly came close, to being cast in a film for the "Carry On" franchise. Although she couldn't recall which film in the franchise specifically, she did add that she was called to Pinewood Studios for the audition process with three or four other actress who were also trying out for the part.
